A importância de contar histórias no jardim-de-infância

Abstract

Partindo do princípio que contar histórias é considerado como uma ferramenta pedagógica na formação do carácter social e intelectual da criança, pretendeu-se com este trabalho compreender e explicar a sua importância no contexto pré-escolar. Através das histórias desenvolve-se a imaginação, o gosto pela leitura, a concentração e estimula-se o espírito crítico. O educador consciente exerce aqui um papel fundamental, dado que, selecciona textos adequados para transmitir através das histórias, momentos de aprendizagem, que deverá ser incorporado nas actividades diárias. Assim, este trabalho está centrado na investigação da construção do leitor fluente. Partindo da vivência no Jardim-de-infância, onde se pontua a vantagem da prática de contar histórias para o desenvolvimento integral da criança, assim como, conhecer a percepção dos pais sobre a importância das histórias no contexto de Jardim-de-infância. Recorreu-se à caracterização da Instituição, do grupo de crianças, assim como as metodologias de intervenção abordadas. Procedeu-se ainda à análise documental dos documentos da instituição e revisão bibliográfica.

Assuming that storytelling is considered a pedagogical tool in shaping the social and intellectual child, this work has the intention of understanding and explaining its importance in a pre-school environment. The story develops the imagination, a taste for reading, concentration and stimulates critical thinking. The teacher consciously plays a key role here, by selecting texts that are appropriate to transmit, moments of learning trough the stories. Which should be incorporated into daily activities. So, this work is focused on investigating the development of the fluent reader, based on the experience in the school-garden, where is pointed out the importance of story-telling as a tool for child development. The other objective is to understand the parents perception on the importance of stories/tales in a school-garden context. For our investigation where used, the characterization of the institution, the children group, as well as the addressed methodologies of intervention. The documentary analysis of the documents of the institution and literature review was also taken into account.
