The disorder of Hyperactivity with Attention Deficit (ADHD) is a central nervous system disorder with diversified symptoms. It arises in the childhood and is characterized by a significant difficulty to pay attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity. Taking into account the proficiency and the challenge that this disorder in the classroom context represents is important to know how to deal with these students adequately, using different educational practices/strategies in order to promote their academic success. The school should give educational answers that include all students, including students with Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit. A main purpose of this research is to verify the attitudes of teachers who teach 5th and 6th grade elementary students with ADHD. Therefore, has been formulated the following problem: What are the attitudes of teachers who teach 5th and 6th grade elementary students with Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit? Were also defined six (6) research hypotheses: Hypothesis 1-Teachers have knowledge of ADHD. Hypothesis 2 – Teachers identify the characteristics of students with ADHD. Hypothesis 3-Teachers understand that learning more about this disorder is necessary to help students with ADHD Hypothesis 4 - Teachers understand the importance of intervention / prevention strategies to promote greater inclusion for ADHD children. Hypothesis 5 - Teachers use intervention strategies in view of the student’s behavior with ADHD in the classroom. Hypothesis 6 - Teachers use intervention strategies to be used in the classroom. With this work a purpose was to understand what the teachers know about students with ADHD; Check how the presence of students with ADHD can influence their educational intervention, thus contributing in this way to a better understanding and better care of students with ADHD in schools at that level of education. To the above purpose was made a quantitative study with the application of a questionnaire on a sample of 53 teachers who teach 5th and 6th grade as a data collection instrument in Agrupamento de Escolas Abade de Baçal, na Escola Básica 2,3 Augusto Moreno. The results showed that, mostly of the teacher’s revealed knowledge of the causes, ADHD characteristics, as well as about possible interventions in the classroom context, in children with ADHD, by implementing a set of strategies and pedagogical techniques that will have better learning answers. In conclusion, it was found that teachers try to find intervention strategies, in classroom context for the student’s characteristics, but that his own profile as teachers has significant importance in that choice. They consider also that the initial and a precise training essential is, because a specific training should establish a self-learning throughout the life cycle of the teacher.
