This study aims to analyze the characteristics of fifteen children with language difficulties, comparing them with fifteen children with typical language development, in the production of liquid consonants in different syllabic formats, relating this production with their skills in comprehension and auditory memory. For the realization of this study will use different instruments. In order to analyze the phonological features of oral speech used the test P.A.F.F.S. (Phonological Assessment Test in Syllabic Formats), to evaluate the comprehension abilities we used the o auditory memory subtest of the I.T.P.A. - Test of Psycholinguistic Skills Illinois (Mc Carthy and Kirk, 1961), and to evaluate the skills level of verbal we used verbal memory subtests that are part of the Perception Hearing Proves: Memory and Verbal Comprehension (Lima et al, 2015). The results obtained in P.A.F.F.S. indicate that children with language difficulties showed difficulties in the production of liquid consonants. These difficulties are manifested by the small percentage of correctly produced liquid consonants and the amount of phonological processes incurred, highlighting the failure for the phoneme // and /R/, the semivocalization for the phoneme // and epenthesis for the phoneme /l/. There were statistically significant differences in the production of different phonemes between this group and the group of children without language difficulties. Between the experimental and the control groups we did not find statistically significant differences in comprehension, although the performance of children without language difficulties has been substantially higher and closer to their chronological age. In verbal memory tests there were statistically significant differences between the two groups, which led us to conclude that there is a correlation between the level of performance in verbal memory language skills and the phonological levelpt_PT
