This report consists of an investigation into the role of the kindergarten teacher in responding to the needs of the child with exceptional precocity. In the first place, it is necessary to distinguish two pertinent and current concepts, that of "giftedness" and "exceptional precocity". Since the term "exceptional precocity" is not an easy-to-interpret concept, it is intended to deepen this theme, to understand what the kindergarten teacher can do to respond to the needs of a child with these characteristics and raise awareness of the problem of giftedness. This concept has undergone some evolution over time, thus accompanying the very evolution of the concept of intelligence. Defining the concept of giftedness is not an easy task, but we can say that being gifted is synonymous with being talented. Precocity refers to time, while giftedness indicates capabilities or functions of a more permanent nature. Giftedness is diagnosed at school age and exceptional precocity refers to the period before the entry to the 1st cycle of elementary school. This study has as general goal to understand the strategies used by kindergarten teachers to respond to the needs of a child with exceptional precocity. With regard to the methodological options, a quantitative methodology was used with qualitative complements, and a questionnaire survey was used as a data collection instrument. In this sense, it was possible to count on the collaboration of 13 kindergarten teachers from two educational institutions in the pre-school context. With regard to the results, we find that the kindergarten teachers interviewed are aware and are sensitized to this problem and promote, in a classroom context, a set of strategies that allow the inclusion of gifted children. As for the intervention, these educational professionals can mention some solutions to be able to respond to the needs of the child with exceptional precocity and are aware that in their intervention they have to use several mechanisms so that the child does not feel frustrated. However, we note that the lack of training by part of the kindergarten teachers, in this area, can condition their action with children with exceptional precocitypt_PT
