The school,as a territory and built laboratory of emotions and several languages, is influenced by the complexity of the culture (s) in your community. The culture of violence widespread in our society enters directly in the schools through its community and can manifest itselfin different ways. The consequences of this culture, which breeds in the interpersonal relationships that are established, they can be devastating, even destructive, to the integrity of the victims. It is important that the School take a position of constant alert and set the prevention of violence, and the promotion of relations of mutual respect, as one of its guidelines and action. This investigation comes as a result of a personal path of awareness about the importance of building an emotionally safe school in the development of each individuality and in their learning and, soon, on the need to promote mutual respect and preventing violence at school. We set off from the premise that all schools are potential environments of violence and its prevention is possible through a collaborative work of all its social actors. In order to promote an environment of emotional security and prevent behaviors and situations of violence at a school in the municipality of Paços de Ferreira, we have moved forward with a case study on the perspectives of the students about the violence observed and experienced in the institution. We saw the participation of students as required and mandatory both in the investigative processes as intervention. In this study we applied a questionnaire to harassment and school violence-quiz AVE (Piñuel, yOñate, a., 2008)-which allowed study the frequency with which certain situations of violence, occur in the selected school, and study the way of thinking and the behavior of the students face situations of this nature. This quantitative study was supplemented by a qualitative analysis, with the creation of a focus group of students allowed to locate in territórioescola where there are situations of violence, and to study the relationship between the spaces and the types of violence. In addition, it was still possible to identify interventions and solutions proposed by the students for the prevention of these phenomena. The results of this investigation revealed that the territory studied thereis a low frequency of major violence especially those related to actions of coercion and intimidation, threat and social exclusion. This study seems to also indicate a trend towards generalization of lesser violence situations throughout the school space, including within the classroom. After the empirical study, and analysis of guiding documents of the institution, designed an intervention project that implements an organizational prevention and, at the same time, allow the participation of all elements of the educational community, in an atmosphere of close cooperation. Briefly, the intervention was divided into two stages. The first, directed to adults in the community with a billboard,-Geocaching-and establishment of focal 6 groups, and the second step, to students, with the development of dynamic created by the STRONG international project, creation and dramatization of a play and the analysis of films on the subject. We propose also the participation of parents and guardians in these last two activities.
