Matemática: Génios de chupeta: Análise das capacidades matemáticas em bebés e crianças em contexto de creche

Abstract

O presente Relatório de Investigação, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Pré-Escolar para obtenção do grau de Mestre pela Escola Superior de Educação de Paula Frassinetti tem como foco de investigação as capacidades e comportamentos matemáticos presentes nos bebés e crianças dos 0 aos 3 anos de idade no contexto específico de Creche, sendo o questionamento da sua existência o principal objetivo do exercício investigativo. Neste reflete-se sobre a educação matemática em Portugal e no Mundo, a formação inicial de professores e educadores relativamente a esta temática e a matemática em contexto de Creche, nomeadamente sobre o desenvolvimento cognitivo que permite a existência de um raciocínio lógicomatemático e o papel do educador enquanto auxiliar desse desenvolvimento. O presente Relatório é de natureza qualitativa utilizando-se procedimentos, técnicas e instrumentos de recolha e análise de dados, tais como registos de observação, análise de comportamentos quer em brincadeira livre quer no brincar heurístico, grelhas de registos para comparação de dados, instrumentos fotográficos e audiovisuais e análise documental

The present Investigation Report, carried out within the scope of the Masters in Pre-School Education in order to obtain the Master’s degree from Escola Superior de Educação de Paula Frassinetti , has as its center of research the study of the capacities and mathematical behaviors of babies and children from 0 to 3 years old, in the specific context of day care education in nurseries, being its very existence the main subject of this investigation. A reflection will be presented here about the education of mathematics in Portugal and in the World, the initial formation of teacher and educators relatively to this theme and to mathematics in the context of day care education in nurseries, namely about the cognitive development that allows the existence of a logical and mathematical reasoning and the role of the educators as a support for that development. This Report is of a qualitative nature, using procedures, techniques and instruments for data collection and analysis, such as observation records, behavior analysis either from free playing or heuristic playing, record grids for data comparison, photographic and audiovisual instruments and documentary analysis
