Currently, there is an awareness that the child is an active element in the process of knowledge construction, thus defending learning by action, and the more involved in the educational activities in a dynamic way, interacting socially, the more it is bound to contribute to its own development. Involving the child in the "kitchen" is also a great way to create healthy eating habits in a fun way. The main objective of this report is to understand how Cooking allows an interdisciplinary work between the various content areas and, at the same time, to develop in the child such important competences as curiosity, cooperation, motivation, critical thinking, prediction, experimentation, evaluation of results, compliance with rules for better learning. The work was developed with a group of 5 year-old children, aiming at understanding the impact of cooking in their daily life, reflecting on what they did and how they did it. In this way it was necessary to know the principles of the Institution and the context in which it is located, as a means of perceiving the importance of its nature for the work in question. To do so, we analyzed of several documents and registered all activities related to the topic. An interview with the Cooperating Educator was also conducted. The group of children showed a great interest in the theme "Cooking", being always motivated and concentrated in the tasks to be carried out during the execution of the proposed activities. At the end of this project, we highlighted the natural way how they organized themselves in an autonomous and cooperative way. It was possible to verify that, in fact, Cooking allows an interdisciplinarity between the various Content Areas, thus fulfilling the present idea, in the Curricular Orientations for Pre-School Education (OCEPE) (DGE, 2016), which should always seek to privilege the development of the child and the articulated construction of knowledge, in an integrated and global approach of the different areas.
