A relação escola-famílias: repercussões no sucesso da criança/aluno

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio, realizado no âmbito da prática de ensino supervisionada do Mestrado de Educação Pré-Escolar e Ensino do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, teve como enfoque a relação entre a escola e as famílias e as repercussões no sucesso da criança/aluno. Esta investigação realizou-se em duas instituições educativas, uma da valência da Educação Pré-Escolar e a outra do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, ambas situadas no distrito do Porto. Teve como grande finalidade perceber de que modo a relação entre os Encarregados de Educação e as instituições educativas frequentadas pelos seus filhos, Jardim de Infância e escola do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, pode contribuir para o sucesso da criança/aluno. Trata-se, então, de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, onde se recorreu à análise documental e ao inquérito por questionário, de forma a responder à questão de partida. Os sujeitos participantes neste estudo foram vinte e seis Encarregados de Educação, onze da valência do Pré-Escolar e quinze da valência do 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, e as duas respetivas docentes cooperantes. A temática da relação escola-famílias e as suas repercussões no sucesso da criança/aluno constitui a grande temática deste estudo. Os dados obtidos relevam a importância de se estreitar e consolidar esta relação, pois acarreta benefícios para o desenvolvimento da criança e para o seu sucesso pessoal e educativo. Assim sendo, através dos dados recolhidos, foi possível constatar que todos os inquiridos, docentes e encarregados de educação, de ambas as valências, consideram que a Família e a Escola ocupam um lugar privilegiado e imprescindível na sociedade com responsabilidades e papéis específicos, numa linha de cooperação mútua. Concluímos, então, que os Encarregados de Educação consideram que o seu papel no sucesso da criança/aluno, é realizado através de uma relação parental próxima, adequada, saudável, continua e complementar, que se conclui numa proximidade entre a Família e a Escola, desenvolvendo crianças equilibradas, confiantes, valorizadas, motivadas e entusiasmadas, promovendo, assim, o seu sucesso.

This internship report, carried out within the scope of the supervised teaching practice of the Master of Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, focused on the relationship between the school and the families and the repercussions on the success of the child/student. This research was carried out in two educational institutions, one in the realm of Pre-School Education and the other in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, both located in the district of Oporto. Its main purpose was to realize how the relationship between the Parents and the educational institutions attended by their children, Kindergarten and school of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, can contribute to the success of the child/student. It is, then, a qualitative and quantitative research, in which documentary analysis and a questionnaire survey were used, in order to answer the starting question. The subjects participating in this study were twenty-six Parents, eleven from the pre-school and fifteen from the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, and the two respective cooperative teachers. The theme of the school-families relationship and its repercussions on the success of the child/student constitutes the great theme of this study. The data obtained show the importance of strengthening and consolidating this relationship, as it brings benefits for the child's development and for his/her personal and educational success. Thus, through the data collected, it was possible to verify that all respondents, teachers and guardians, from both groups, consider that the Family and the School occupy a privileged and indispensable place in society with specific responsibilities and roles, in a line of mutual cooperation. We conclude, then, that the Parents consider that their role in the success of the child/student is carried out through a close, adequate, healthy, continuous and complementary parental relationship, which is concluded in a close proximity between the Family and the School, developing children that are balanced, confident, valued, motivated and enthusiastic, thus promoting their success.
