Projeto Comunitário Espaço ASA – Autocuidado, Ser, Agir: Narrativas do Cuidar em Comunidade

Abstract

O presente projeto tem como propósito relevar a importância da experiência de ser cuidador(a) priorizando, simultaneamente, o Direito ao Descanso do Cuidador (a), bem como a necessidade urgente das práticas de Autocuidado, tendo como eixo central a articulação com as Unidades de Cuidados na Comunidade – resposta integrada na rede de saúde pública. O Espaço ASA – Autocuidado, Ser, Agir, um espaço móvel e itinerante, consiste num projeto de intervenção comunitária que tem como escopo colmatar problemáticas através de ferramentas inovadoras, capacitando os membros da sociedade. O presente projeto visa, portanto, colaborar para a construção de estratégias que promovam o Descanso do (a) Cuidador (a) reconhecendo que só pela colaboração e pela interdependência destes dois canais – comunidade e saúde – se pode fomentar uma rede de cuidados informais de corresponsabilidade e apoio contínuo. Assente numa investigação com recurso ao método qualitativo, mais concretamente ao método das histórias de vida, desejou-se, com este projeto, compreender as vivências subjetivas dos (as) cuidadores (as) informais, principais e não principais, nomeadamente, quanto à experiência do cuidado, à sobrecarga e à existência (ou ausência) de estratégias comunitárias que promovam o descanso e práticas de autocuidado. Serão considerados aspetos como a perceção individual do bem-estar de cada cuidador (a), o fenómeno alusivo aos distintos níveis de sobrecarga, o nível de envolvimento comunitário, a eficácia das parcerias estabelecidas e a sustentabilidade das ações implementadas. A investigação assume, assim, um carácter interventivo e participativo, procurando contribuir para a valorização do (a) cuidador (a) informal e para o fortalecimento das comunidades enquanto espaços de apoio, solidariedade e cuidado partilhado.

The objective of this project is to highlight the importance of the experience of being a caregiver, simultaneously prioritizing the Caregiver's Right to Rest, as well as the urgent need for Self-Care practices, with the central axis being the articulation with Community Care Units - an integrated response in the public health network. Espaço ASA – Self-Care, Being, Acting, a mobile and itinerant space, consists of a community intervention project that aims to address problems through innovative tools, empowering members of society. This project aims, therefore, to collaborate in the construction of strategies that promote the Caregiver's Rest, recognizing that only through collaboration and interdependence of these two channels – community and health – can an informal care network of co-responsibility and continuous support be fostered. Based on research using the qualitative method, more specifically the life story method, this project aimed to understand the subjective experiences of informal caregivers, both primary and non-primary, in particular regarding the experience of care, burden and the existence (or absence) of community strategies that promote rest and selfcare practices. Aspects such as the individual perception of well-being of each caregiver, the pejorative phenomenon alluding to the different levels of burden, the level of community involvement, the effectiveness of the partnerships established and the sustainability of the actions implemented will be considered. The research thus assumes an interventionist and participatory nature, seeking to contribute to the valorization of the informal caregiver and to the strengthening of communities as spaces of support, solidarity and shared care.
